Major and minor chords.

A tonic triad can be formed by the interval 1,3,5 of its scale.

Example.

For C major chord, you have to take C major scale and its 1,3,5 interval which are C E G. Like this, just take any scale and its 1,3,5 interval to find out the tonic triad(major or minor chord).

We are not discussing the interval here.
